ShopSEO Pro (“the App”) is a Shopify app operated by Memento Technologies (“we”, “us”). It helps merchants improve the search engine optimization of their Shopify stores. This policy explains what information the App collects when you install it, how we use it, and your choices.
Information we collect
When you install the App, Shopify gives us access to the following store data:
- Store information: your shop domain, store name, store URL and an access token issued by Shopify so the App can work with your store.
- Store content: product, collection, page and blog post titles, descriptions, URL handles, images and image alt text, and SEO fields (titles, meta descriptions and search visibility).
- Theme settings (read-only): the App reads your live theme's settings file only to check whether its app embed is switched on. It never changes theme files.
- URL redirects you create or import through the App.
- Settings you enter: brand identity (logo URL, support email, social profile links), schema details (business name, address, phone, opening hours, shipping and return policy) and FAQ content.
- Results created by the App: SEO audit results, generated SEO drafts and feedback, and schema settings.
- Subscription status of your App plan, provided by Shopify Billing. We never see or store payment card details.
The App does not request access to your customers, orders, checkouts or payments, and does not collect personal information about your customers.
How we use information
- To audit your store's SEO and show you issues and recommendations.
- To generate SEO titles, meta descriptions and image alt text, and to apply changes to your store only when you ask the App to.
- To add structured data (schema markup) and optional speed features to your storefront through the App's theme app embed.
- To test pages of your storefront for structured data when you run the Schema Tester (the App only requests pages on your own store's domains).
- To manage your subscription and provide support.
We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.
Service providers
We share data only with providers that help us run the App. We do not send your store data to AI or other third-party services.
- Shopify — platform, authentication and billing.
- Vercel — application hosting.
- Neon — database hosting.
Data retention and deletion
- When you uninstall the App, we delete your access sessions, settings, generated SEO drafts and redirect records.
- 48 hours after uninstall, Shopify sends a shop data erasure request and we permanently delete all remaining data for your store, including audit history.
- Changes the App made to your store at your request (SEO fields, alt text, URL handles, redirects, metafields) remain part of your store and can be edited in your Shopify admin.
- We respond to Shopify's customer data requests and customer redaction requests. Because the App stores no customer personal data, there is nothing to export or delete for individual customers.
Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in access-controlled, encrypted hosting. Access tokens are used only to perform the actions you request in the App.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your information. You can remove all App data at any time by uninstalling the App, or contact us and we will help.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the App changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
